Collection: Sanjo Knives

Sanjo, in Niigata Prefecture, is one of Japan's great metalworking towns, with a blacksmithing history going back centuries. Sanjo knives are known for a sturdy, thick spine at the heel that tapers down beautifully toward the tip, giving strength where you need it and finesse at the point.

This collection brings together knives forged in Sanjo, including makers such as Yoshikane, Nihei, Mazaki, Toshihiro Wakui, Watanabe, Toyama and Mutsumi Hinoura.
