Nigara Hamono, appointed by the region of Tsugaru over 350 years ago to craft Japanese swords, has upheld its noble tradition as one of Japan's esteemed swordsmiths. Throughout centuries, they have meticulously preserved the art of sword making, demonstrating unparalleled craftsmanship.

During the Showa period, the 5th generation master swordsmith Kunitoshi Nigara gained legendary status for his exceptional work, revered as a national treasure for his contributions to the craft.

Today, under the leadership of Toshiju Yoshizawa, the company's president, the legacy continues with the 8th generation blacksmith Tsuyoshi Yoshizawa. Embracing the family's heritage while pushing the boundaries of innovation, Tsuyoshi Yoshizawa creates distinctive knives that blend traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design, ensuring Nigara Hamono remains at the forefront of Japanese blade-making excellence.
