Katsushige Anryu embarked on his journey as a knife maker by apprenticing under his father, Katsutoshi Anryu, immediately after completing high school in 1959. Hailing from a lineage of knife makers, he is the fourth generation to carry on this esteemed craft. With over 50 years of experience as a blacksmith, he has honed his skills to perfection. Recently, Anryu passed on the legacy of Anryu Hamono to his dedicated apprentice, Ikeda San, ensuring the continuation of their tradition.
