Sakai Kikumori

Sakai Kikumori knives are crafted by Kawamura Hamono, a family-operated cutlery company renowned for its production of high-quality Japanese and Western-style kitchen knives. Situated in Sakai, one of Japan's oldest and most esteemed knife-making centers, Kawamura Hamono has been crafting knives since the 1920s. Over the years, they have cultivated enduring partnerships with some of Sakai's finest blacksmiths and sharpeners, ensuring a tradition of excellence and craftsmanship in every knife they produce.

Sakai Kikumori Minamo

These knives feature a distinctive polished Damascus finish and are forged from ATS-34, a premium steel produced by Hitachi Steel in Japan. ATS-34 is a high-alloy stainless steel containing 1.05% carbon, 15% chromium, and 4% molybdenum. Comparable in performance to the renowned VG-10 stainless steel from Takefu Steel, ATS-34 offers slightly superior edge retention, making it exceptionally well-suited for kitchen cutlery.

The blade has a convex grind, thin behind the edge, and tapers to an ultra-fine tip for precision cutting. To complement this unique craftsmanship,we have fitted with a striking handle made from black buffalo horn, accented with three slim spacers—one copper and two nickel. Due to the complexity of their production, these blades are exceptionally rare and stand among the highest-end creations from Sakai Kikumori.
