Atoma Diamond Sharpening Plates represent the pinnacle of sharpening tools, hailing from Tsuboman, a distinguished Japanese manufacturer renowned for its precision-crafted products. These plates feature a mono-crystalline diamond abrasive surface affixed to stainless steel, with a sturdy body crafted from 10mm machined aluminum plate. The exceptional quality and durability of Atoma plates set them apart, boasting precision-made surfaces with unparalleled uniformity. Even after extensive use, these plates maintain their flatness, ensuring consistent performance. Moreover, the diamond surface plate can be replaced independently, eliminating the need to purchase another baseplate.
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your ATOMA plate, follow these maintenance and usage guidelines:
-
Preparation: Before use, ensure that the sharpening stone is adequately wet. Do not use the plate on a dry stone, as this may compromise its effectiveness.
-
Direction of Use: When applying the plate to the stone, align it in the same direction as the stone's surface. This ensures maximum coverage and efficiency. Slide the plate onto the stone with enough water between them, without applying excessive pressure, to flatten the surface effectively.
-
Cleaning: After each use, clean the plate thoroughly with water. You can rinse it under the tap or use a soft brush to remove any debris. Ensure to wipe the diamond side of the plate well with a cloth to remove excess moisture and keep it dry.
Following these maintenance and usage instructions will help preserve the effectiveness and condition of your ATOMA plate, ensuring consistent and reliable performance over time.
