Hado, previously known as 'OUL Sakai' by Fukui Hamono, collaborates with some of the finest blacksmiths in Osaka, Sakai, such as Yoshikazu Tanaka and Shogo Yamatsuka. HADO knives are expertly sharpened by in-house sharpener Maruyama-san.
Ha (刃) means blade and Do (道) means road in Japanese. For the first time in 109 years, Fukui Hamono produced in-house knives. Hado represents their dedication to continuing their legacy in the knife-making industry for the next century.
White steel, also known as Shirogami, is one of the purest carbon steels used in knife making, which consists mostly of carbon and iron. White steel is renowned for being easy to sharpen.
