Located in Goto City, Nagasaki Prefecture, "Miyazaki Kajiya" specializes in handcrafted knives amidst the city's lush natural surroundings. The craftsman behind these exquisite creations is Haruo Miyazaki, hailing from the esteemed Oba blacksmith lineage in Fukuoka Prefecture, spanning three generations. Under the mentorship of Toshio Oba, a revered master known for crafting the traditional "Hakata Ippon Hocho", Miyazaki refined his skills over a five-year apprenticeship. His knives embody the essence of rustic craftsmanship, exemplified by the Tsubaki knife's unique shape reminiscent of the Hakata knife.
Really beautiful blade. The grind looks great and the choil is lovely. F&F on the spine & choil feels good in hand and the handle is superb. Sadly, the tip was slightly bent—presumably in its cross ocean voyage.
